ಅಜ್ಜನ ಅಚ್ಚಳಿಯದ ನೆನಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ...

🌸12th April, 1934 - 12th December, 2002🌸       

ಇಂದು, ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಶಿರೋಮಣಿ ನೀರ್ಪಾಜೆ ಭೀಮ ಭಟ್ ಅವರ 87 ನೇ ಜಯಂತ್ಯುತ್ಸವ✨

  ಅಜ್ಜ ತೀರಿಹೋದಾಗ ನನಗೆ ಎರಡೇ ವರ್ಷ!! ಆದರೂ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಒಂದು ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂಥರಾ ಅಚ್ಚಳಿಯದ ಅಜ್ಜನ ನೆನಪು..

ನಾ ಪುಟ್ಟವಳಿದ್ದಾಗ "ನೀ ಬರೆಯಕ್ಕು ಪುಳ್ಳಿ...ತುಂಬಾ ಬರೆಯಕ್ಕು" ಎಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಳಿ ಕರೆದು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆಂದು ಎನ್ನಮ್ಮ ಈಗಲೂ ನೆನಪಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಾರೆ.

 ಇಂದು ನಾನು ಬರವಣಿಗೆಯತ್ತ
 ಪುಟ್ಟ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಯಿಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆಂದರೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾರಣ ಅಜ್ಜನಿಂದಲೇ ಬಳುವಳಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಂದ 'ಸಾಹಿತ್ಯ ಪ್ರೇಮ' ಎಂದರೆ ತಪ್ಪಾಗಲಾರದೇನೋ!!

 ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮ ಮನದ ಮೂಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸದಾ ನೆಲೆಯಾಗಿರುವಿರಿ..
 ಸದಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸ್ಮರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ....

(ಆಂಗ್ಲ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಾದರೆ ಬರೀ audio book ಕೇಳುವಾಗ ಕೆಲವು ಶಬ್ದಗಳು, ಉಚ್ಚಾರಣೆ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ). ಹೀಗೇ ಮೊನ್ನೆ ಒಮ್ಮೆ ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ಕನ್ನಡ AudioBook ಸಿಗಬಹುದಾ ಎಂದು ನಮ್ಮ ಬಡವರ ಬಂಧು YouTube ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಡಕಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ "ಬನ್ನಿ ಓದೋಣ" ಎಂಬ Channel ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಚಂತೇ ಯವರ ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಕಂಡೆ! ತೇಜಸ್ವಿಯವರ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಓದುವ ಬಯಕೆ ಮೊದಲಿಂದಲೇ ಇತ್ತು.. Lockdown ಸಂದರ್ಭ ಪೋಸ್ಟಾಫೀಸು PDF ಅರ್ಧ ಓದಿದ್ದೆ, ಕಾರಣಾಂತರಗಳಿಂದ ಮುಂದೆ ಓದಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೇ ಆಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಈ AudioBook ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದು ತುಂಬಾ ಖುಷಿಯಾಯಿತು! ತಡಮಾಡದೇ ಕೇಳಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದೆ... ಈ ಕಾದಂಬರಿಯ ಹೆಸರು ಕೇಳಿದೊಡನೆ, ಕಾಡುವ ಮೊಟ್ಟಮೊದಲ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆ, "ಹೌದು, ಈ ಕರ್ವಾಲೋ ಅಂದರೆ ಏನು?" ಎಂದು. ಕರ್ವಾಲೋ, ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರುವ ಮುಖ್ಯಪಾತ್ರ. ಇವರು ಮೇಧಾವಿ ಪರಸರ ವಿಜ್ಞಾನಿ ಹಾಗೂ ಸಂಶೋಧಕ! ಪೂಚಂತೇಯವರೂ ತಾವೇ ಒಂದು ಪಾತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಕಥೆಯ ನಿರೂಪಣೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪೂಚಂತೇಯವರ ನಾಯಿ 'ಕಿವಿ'ಯದ್ದೂ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವೇ! ಎಡವಟ್ಟಿಗೇ ಹೆಸರಾದ ಮಂದಣ್ಣ ಅಂತ ಕರ್ವಾಲೋರ ಪಟ್ಟ...

The Street Lawyer by John Grisham : #BookReview

The lockdown has given me a great time to read books in my long TBR list!  Today, here I review one of the books that won my heart! I randomly picked this novel from the library and enjoyed the novel to the fullest. It is a very rare kind of novels I have read till now.. This, is a story of a millionaire lawyer who becomes a street lawyer, when he reaches the state of having only thousand bucks; his life  takes a huge U-turn just in a month's time! The novel also talks about the homeless, the reasons for them to become homeless, their problems, etc.. Neatly written till the end! The English is easily understandable.
