The King of Shravasti, a forgotten warrior | Legend of Suheldev - The King who saved India | Author Amish | Book review

Genre : Historical mythology

I have always loved history and 'm always keen to learn about the things which were happened in real, especially the warriors who fought for motherland, make me get inspired. So, soon after looking at the attractive cover and good reviews, thought of taking up to read, 'Suheldev' by one of the best selling Indian authors, Amish Tripathi. This book is written by Amish with the assistance of writer's club, a group of writers and researches who helped him with the overall outcome of the book.

This book explains the story of Suheldev, a great warrior in the history of Bharath, from a small kingdom of Shravasti, which is now located in Uttar Pradresh.  The novel is mainly written in the way, that shows the strength of unity. The way of writing is amazing. There are some parts of the novel which really make the reader curious and some parts are emotional too. It also values friendship and loyalty. The author has done a commendable job in bringing a warrior, a real hero, who fought against the Ghaznis in the history of Bharat, into the limelight; among the people of the nation.

At the same time,  what I didn't like about this book is that, a few things are portrayed as if they were real, but which were far from the truth. I think this step was not necessary to be shown in that particular way, in this historical book, which can have minor impact in the minds of people.

I will rate it a 4/5.

It is a great book, but could have been even better. I would recommend to read this book to get knowledge about one of the real heroes of Bharat, which cannot be found in the school textbooks or elsewhere, where they glorify foreign invaders more than the sacrifices of the great warriors to the motherland.

Sakhya: a short story

Sakhya Friendship is a unique bonding! 'Friends' are the humanised form of trust, affection and care, all dwelled in one.  Friends are a family! These buddies are the ones who are always with each other, for each other. This is the story of two such friends Sakhi and Maithri from a local high school in a village called Sakhpur.  Sakhi was studying in high-school when she met Maithri. They both were new students in the class. With new faces all around the class and difficulty in studying languages, Maithri approached Sakhi, the girl in the same boat, for help. They both helped each other, talked about overcoming their situation and eventually became friends. Close friends.  They started sharing everything; be it food, family matters, school, gossip, every damn  thing with each other. Even their families knew each other now. At times, Sakhi even felt like going to Maithri's home and spending time with her, doing combined studies, playing and all.  They...
