A Monk who sold his Ferrari | Robin Sharma | Book Review

Off late, I was more onto fiction, and this is mostly the first english non-fiction (self help) I read recently. It changed my thinking towards reading non-fiction and I will definitely read more of non-fiction from now on.

The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari is written by Robin Sharma, a motivational speaker and bestselling author from Canada. The writing style is in a way of conversation between two people. Julian Mantle, a famous lawyer, comes to India after a heart attack, to find his true self. He learns the importance of spirituaity, wisdom and transforms himself into a much healthier and happy man after learning the ancient techniques followed by the great Sages of Sivana. He later returns to his country, to spread the awareness among the people of the west.

This book is filled with positive thoughts, importance of spirituality, it gives the techniques to know yourself better. What I liked about the book is, some phrases which are difficult to understand or remember are explained with the help of a story. Also you can find the summary of that particular chapter soon after reading it, which helps you get through it easily whenever you wish to read. I personally, have learnt a lot from this book. Didn't feel bored of preachings, nothing. A motivating read.

For Indians, however few things mentioned in the book are relatable.

This book was gifted to me by a brother, from the page @bibliophile_baba at Instagram. Do checkout his page for amazing book reviews.

The author has written few more self helps like the 5 AM club, Mega living, who will cry when you die. Do give them a try, if you are interested in self helps.

The Street Lawyer by John Grisham : #BookReview

The lockdown has given me a great time to read books in my long TBR list!  Today, here I review one of the books that won my heart! I randomly picked this novel from the library and enjoyed the novel to the fullest. It is a very rare kind of novels I have read till now.. This, is a story of a millionaire lawyer who becomes a street lawyer, when he reaches the state of having only thousand bucks; his life  takes a huge U-turn just in a month's time! The novel also talks about the homeless, the reasons for them to become homeless, their problems, etc.. Neatly written till the end! The English is easily understandable. Rating: 4.5/5 If you too are a bookoholic, don't miss to read this one. Also, comment your opinions below. Happy reading! -Anki
